The `cue_duration` is the additional information that said entry has a duration of 10s allowing the player to pick this subtitle entry for display right after seeking. The cues already contain the information »there’s a subtitle entry starting at 3m56s«. If the player wants to display this subtitle entry as well it needs at least the `cue_duration` information present as well. However, there’s also a subtitle entry starting at 3m56s with a duration of 10s. The user tells the player to seek to 4m0s. These pieces of information can be used by players to make looking for overlapping elements easier. So they’re definitely not the same as `–no-cues`. The two `–engage no_cue_…` options only affect certain pieces of information inside the cues.
